In Incinerator Ash Clean up, Ecohog Windshifters are used in conjunction with screening equipment; the screen removes the fines fraction and the oversize is fed to the Ecohog and light fraction is then separated from the heavy. The heavy material is typically made up of metals and aggregate that can then be further separated with ease. These materials then go to the HogMag for removal of ferrous and nonferrous metals. The remaining product can be sent for further processing.
The HogMag is used in this scenario to remove the metals. Ferrous and Non-ferrous metals must be removed prior to burning as the metal swill damages the grates in the burner causing downtime and associated costs. Higher quality recycled woodchip is required for biomass fuel.
